The most common orientations are southwest (13 beaches) and south (4 beaches). When the Mistral (NW) blows, the beaches facing southeast stay sheltered: 3 of 20. Municipalities with the most sheltered beaches: Portovenere. With the Sirocco (SE): none of these beaches gets an offshore wind.
Among the best-known beaches: Venere Azzurra, Spiaggia di San Terenzo, Eco del mare and Spiaggia del Persico.
