Cogoleto: 20 beaches, mostly sandy (75% where the seabed is known), mainly facing southeast. Genova: 13 beaches, mostly pebble (80% where the seabed is known), mainly facing south. Arenzano: 10 beaches, mainly facing southeast. Santa Margherita Ligure: 10 beaches, mostly sandy (57% where the seabed is known), mainly facing east. Rapallo: 6 beaches, mainly facing southeast. Lavagna: 3 beaches, mainly facing southwest.
The seabed is known for 33 of 77 beaches: 18 pebble, 14 sandy and 1 with a mixed seabed. The majority are pebble: 55%.

The most common orientations are south (30 beaches) and southeast (28 beaches). 45 of 77 beaches are sheltered from the Mistral (NW): those facing southeast. Municipalities with the most sheltered beaches: Cogoleto and Arenzano. With the Sirocco (SE): none of these beaches gets an offshore wind.
Best known: Spiaggia di Portobello, Riva Trigoso beach, Pegli beach, Quinto al Mare beach and Minaglia.
