Monopoli: 27 beaches, mostly sandy (85% where the seabed is known), mainly facing northeast. Polignano a Mare: 11 beaches, mostly sandy (62% where the seabed is known), mainly facing northeast. Bari: 7 beaches, mainly facing north. Giovinazzo: 6 beaches, mainly facing north. Molfetta: 3 beaches, mainly facing north.
The seabed is known for 37 of 55 beaches: 25 sandy, 7 rocky and 5 pebble. The majority are sandy: 68%.
According to the European Environment Agency classification (EEA, 2025 season), 54 of the 54 beaches linked to a monitoring point have excellent water (100%).
The most common orientations are northeast (41 beaches) and north (14 beaches). With the Mistral (NW) or with the Sirocco (SE): none of these beaches gets an offshore wind.
Among the best-known beaches: San Vito and Lama Monachile.
