Rio: 20 beaches, mostly pebble (100% where the seabed is known), mainly facing east. Portoferraio: 18 beaches, mostly pebble (62% where the seabed is known), mainly facing north. Rosignano Marittimo: 15 beaches, mainly facing southwest. Campo nell'Elba: 14 beaches, mostly sandy (50% where the seabed is known), mainly facing south.

Municipalities with the most sheltered beaches: Portoferraio and Marciana.
